Hi, for an other Project i am locking for some CAN IDs. Some are used in OVMS some not. Or i didn't find them. :) i am locking for: - Battery Voltage DC - Charging Current DC - Battery Temp. Can anybody help. (No i don't have a TR. So i can't lock myself) Thanks Bye Michael J.

AT&T to Terminate 2G on Dec 31, 2016

According to Nissan: "AT&T has announced that on December 31, 2016, AT&T will terminate 2G network availability." https://www.nissanusa.com/electric-cars/leaf/features/disclaimers.html This will kill Carwings on the Leaf, as well as current OVMS hardware running on AT&T. Perhaps T-Mobile will keep running 2G in the US? In my experience, T-Mobile's coverage isn't as good as AT&T's. Tom

What does CarOn mean?

Thanks Mark, With some help I found a message on the canbus that reflects the status of the "Ready" light in the car. Please note that the key position may be in "on", that does not mean that the car can drive. I have seen this behavior (the switch is on, but then it takes half second and the car is "ready", most of the time) in the old RAV4 EV, Nissan Leaf, the Mitsubishi Miev trio of cars, Think City EV. I don't remember how it works in the Roadster or the Model S. So if no one minds I will be setting the CarON when the "Ready" bit is set in that CANBus message. Can someone please confirm that my code will extract the correct bit - I think I got it right, but sometimes I confuse the zerobased indexing and the endianness of a system. The CAN bus message id is 0x424 - Here with ready OFF: 424 43 00 08 00 00 AE 01 FF And here with ready ON: 424 43 00 0C 00 00 AE 01 FF So I am looking for the the 3rd bit in the 3rd byte of the message and I am thinking of doing something like this: car_doors1bits.CarON = can_databuffer[3] & (1<<2); or maybe car_doors1bits.CarON = can_databuffer[3] & 4; Is this correct? Nissan Leaf

I've ordered a bunch of cables suitable for CAR and EV can buses of Nissan Leaf. Pinout is: Pinout B J1962-M DB9-F Signal 4 3 Chassis/Power GND 6 5 CAN-H (alternate CAN) 14 4 CAN-L (alternate CAN) 13 7 CAN-H (primary CAN) 12 2 CAN-L (primary CAN) 16 9 +12V Vehicle Power J1962 end should be MALE plug with right angle cable. DB9 end should be FEMALE. Both ends should be enclosed in shells, and cable should be 1metre in length. The wiring brings J1962-M pins 13 and 12 (EV can bus) through to our standard OVMS v2 can bus pins. It also brings the normal CAR can bus through on DB9-F pins 5 and 4 (for future use on any dual-can enabled OVMS module, or easy re-wiring at the DB9 end). Cable itself as per our standard naming: For simplicity, I'll ask Fasttech to handle logistics for these, as usual. Regards, Mark.

Hi Mark, Or anyone out there that can help. This is the D message. D 92,0,0,28,29,23,0,0,0,13281,-127,3,60,-1,14.2,0,0.0,16 The first byte is 92 decimal and 0101 1100 binary. In my build this value can be 3 (0000 0011), or 64 (0100 0000). This first byte should correspond to cardoors1 byte. Now which one is bit nr. 5 that is always supposed be 1? Or how do I find which bit is bit nr.7? Nikolay

timestamps on push notifications and logs

Hi, I am getting strange time on my push notifications and on the logs. Looking at the code it seem a variable called car_time is used to produce string indicating time. Also looking at the code I can not seem to find where this car_time variable is set. The only place I could find is the vehicle_teslaroadster.c . If I am not missing something wouldn't it be beneficial to get the time from the GPS or the GSM network instead? I am attaching a screenshot of my app where the timestamp of the push notification is visible together with the time displayed on my phone. Nikolay

Yes, sounds like it to me. So the OVMS web side needs help implementing OAUTH so that other app/services can make authenticated requests to the server over HTTP. I believe from my quick glance over it that the main server protocol is currently binary encrypted comms over UDP which is generally both harder to parse, impossible to use from a browser client (no UDP) and presumably more difficult to extend for operations unrelated to streaming car state. I assume the http API is php? Not really my bag but I'm sure there are plenty of oauth modules/libraries for you to choose from. Assuming you need OAuth 1. OAuth 2 always requires presenting the user with an authentication page which isn't ideal for server side stuff. Ok Michael thank you for your answer. I've registered at the forum (waiting for admin approval) even if the forum is german language and I don't understand any german word but Warum ist die banane krumm? :-) Ok for ods (at least I'll do some reading when my ovms box will arrive....). For nice2have features I'll wait for your list (I have my personal list too but maybe we'll have a later focus on that) About the lack of app specific twizy features I do not know the app very well (as user) and I will check it asap. I did a brief tour and I had the feeling the app is a little bit "rough". I can support the dev team for the vehicle specific part (if needed) and/or the android version of the app (don't know if drupal modules/extension will be affected by app customising for twizy due to MIM model for the server). As stated in my first message, here in Italy M2M sim card are not common and data plans are provided for business only (at reasonable price, otherwise you have to buy full featured sim at higher prices). If some sort of "extension modules" can be provided to ovms by means of expansion pins maybe a short range wireless module (i.e. bluetooth) would be great for pairing with phones to use its data plan. I can change the code so the CarOn=1 only when that particular message (the 412) is received. But I still need to set it to 0 when the car is not on and charging. The current code is setting the CarOn=0 when CANBUS communication is missing for 60 seconds, so If I park the car, and plug it without switching off the CarOn is going to stay 1. Maybe a timer on the 412 message? So if not received within 10 seconds I can set CarOn to 0?
