Currently the documentation says: https://docs.openvehicles.com/en/latest/userguide/console.html With OpenSSH version 6.6 (or later), cipher aes128-cbc has been disabled by default and needs to be enabled manually but this does not appear to be needed with the version of wolfssh we're currently using. My FreeBSD desktop has OpenSSH 7.9p1 in the base system and "/usr/bin/ssh -F /dev/null ovms-z.alameda.xse.com" (i.e. no config file) works fine. Meanwhile, OpenSSH 8.8 (which I've been using via the ports system since October) disables ssh-rsa by default so I had to add something simlar to: Host ovmsname.local HostkeyAlgorithms +ssh-rsa PubkeyAcceptedAlgorithms +ssh-rsa to my .ssh/config. If someone would confirm my understanding of the current state is correct, I'd be happy to generate a PR to update the doc. Craig

Can anyone tell what the timing units are in for the polling? I.e. { vcutx, vcurx, VEHICLE_POLL_TYPE_OBDIIEXTENDED, vcuspeed, { 0, 0, 1, 30 }, 0, ISOTP_STD }, Is that seconds? Milliseconds? Regards Shane

Trouble building the documentation

I saw a couple of ssh related changes I wanted to make and tried building the docs for the first time in a long time. sphinx chews it, log appended. How to reset the sshd server key?

I was configuring a new module and I must have fat-fingered the zip pw for config backup (reminder to self: always leave it empty so the module pw is used). I wanted the new module to have a different sshd server key but couldn't figure out how to do it. I tried things like: config rm ssh.server key but couldn't get "config list ssh.info" to change. Is there a way to do it? If not, is it hard to add? I got around this painfully: - backup current config - module factory reset - follow the setup process, sshd server key generated along the way - backup the new config - unpack the original and new configs - copy ssh.info and ssh.server from the old to the new config - zip it, copy back to module, and restore Prior to this method-of-last-resort I tried "config list ssh.server 0A132..." but the ssh interface truncates the ~2K string of hex digits. TLS CA question

I find that I need to enable the following option in my testing of the possible replacement of MEDTLS with WolfSSL, otherwise I get an "ASN no signer to confirm" error: WOLFSSL_ALT_CERT_CHAIN allows CA's to be presented by peer, but not part of a valid chain. Default wolfSSL behavior is to require validation of all presented peer certificates. This also allows loading intermediate CA's as trusted and ignoring no signer failures for CA's up the chain to root. The alternate certificate chain mode only requires that the peer certificate validate to a trusted CA. Is that expected for the trust arrangements we are using? A possibly related question: do we expect the server to validate clients, or only the clients to validate the server? -- Steve

I’m working on an implementation of IP stack over CAN for the Tesla Roadster. IP frames are encoded as a length followed by a sequence of CAN frames, all on the same ID. This runs over a 1MHz bus, so presumably the traffic volume could be high at times. I was having problems with this running on CAN2, so tried CAN1 and it worked perfectly. Here are some simple dumps of a single PING packet (and single PING response packet): ID #111 is used to transmit an IP packet, and ID #110 is used to receive an IP packet. This is the only traffic on the bus. Everything else is turned off. Roughly 12 packets each way. Surely even if we were hitting a performance limit, our buffers can handle 12 packets? The good news is that I have a good environment to replicate this issue now, so any fix should be easy to test. I haven’t worked on the MCP2515 driver in our code in a long time, but it certainly seems something is messed up and that could be badly affecting vehicle modules using anything other than CAN1. I will start to look at this over the weekend, but has anyone got any ideas/suggestions? Perhaps the bit timing registers are off by a small amount (so it works on CAN1 but not on CAN2)? V3.3 hardware

Delighted to say that the v3.3 hardware first batch is (finally) in. It looks good, and passes all QC checks so far. Fasttech has stock already, and we are shipping to EU and US distributors this week. Batches are taking longer to produce now (due to chip supply issues, but also covid and the holiday season), so we will be starting production of a second batch soon. Regards, Mark

MacOS Monterey

I now update (create a fresh install) my Mac (Macbok air 2017) to macOS Monterey and developing not working. I get a following when compile a code, this a main repo, without modification, fresh install. Any suggestions? Go back to BigSur?
