Everyone, I've just moved dexters-web.de & ovms.dexters-web.de to a new server. If you already used the name ovms.dexters-web.de to access the server, you don't need to change anything. If you still want to or need to use the IP address, you need to change that to the new IP: 85.195.96.186 Port forwarding will be stopped in about two weeks. Please contact me in case of any issues. Android App Java→Kotlin migration

Everyone, for those not following the Android repository updates: thanks to the great help & efforts of Franco Sabadini (https://github.com/francos, not sure if he's also subscribed here), the Android App is now heading towards a full migration from Java to Kotlin. This is currently done in the dedicated "migrate-kotlin" branch, but "master" is now frozen until this is finished & merged, as Java changes cannot be merged into Kotlin automatically. So, for any new submissions, please base your code on the "migrate-kotlin" branch until further notice. To test the current Kotlin state, please install the latest build from the "migrate-kotlin" branch: * https://github.com/openvehicles/Open-Vehicle-Android/tree/migrate-kotlin/la… For those not familiar with Kotlin: it's basically a clean Java concept reimplementation, very similar but more readable & versatile. It's compiled into Java VM byte code using the same ABIs, so coexists & cooperates with Java classes in the same application. That's also the current state of the implementation, Franco has reworked the core classes, the UI classes are still Java. Maxus eDeliver 9

Has anyone looked at the Maxus eDeliver 9 vehicle support? Seeing these IDs on the CAN bus, which doesn’t seem to match either the eDeliver3 or eUniq56 expectations: 0F1, 1D8, 1F5, 210, 220, 223, 261, 266, 269, 281, 290, 293, 2F6, 300, 310, 319, 329, 355, 362, 363, 373, 375, 379, 37A, 3D7, 410, 501, 503, 509, 510, 511, 512, 558, 55F, 598, 5A5, 5A6, 5B0, 5E0, 698, 6F0, 6F1, 6F2, 795, 7C8 There is a commercial operation in Germany that is looking for help with this. wolfssl has been converted to a git submodule

Dear all, The PR https://github.com/openvehicles/Open-Vehicle-Monitoring-System-3/pull/887 which converts wolfssl to a git submodule has been merged to master. For those that build / sync their trees manually, please ensure that you do `git submodule update --init --recursive` after the git pull, so that you can properly retrieve the submodule. SSL Certificates for Open Vehicles

FYI: I’ve updated the SSL certificates for Open Vehicles (www.openvehicles.com <http://www.openvehicles.com/>, api.openvehicles.com <http://api.openvehicles.com/>, etc) - all services including website, MQTT and v2 server. CA’s are: C = LV, L = Riga, O = GoGetSSL, CN = GoGetSSL RSA DV CA C = US, ST = New Jersey, L = Jersey City, O = The USERTRUST Network, CN = USERTrust RSA Certification Authority That should be the same as the components/ovms_tls/trustedca/usertrust.crt we already have trusted in OVMS v3 by default, so hopefully no impact. Auxiliary Battery Monitor (Kia Niro EV)

The 12V auxiliary battery in our Niro has died twice, so I decided to dig back into OVMS to see if it could shed any light on what is going on with the battery. I’ve installed the AuxBatMon <https://docs.openvehicles.com/en/latest/plugin/auxbatmon/README.html> plugin to log battery parameters and I have questions… The module is running: 3.3.003/ota_1/main (build idf v3.3.4-848-g1ff5e24b1b Sep 3 2022 11:32:12) — is this really the latest stable version? Here’s what I’m seeing: My questions: What is the source of the current value? Is it being reported by the vehicle? I’m puzzled by it remaining at a high constant value even after the charger appears to have shut down. Similarly with the charger and environmental temperature values — it seems add that they are mostly constant. If there is anyone out there with a Niro / Kona, I’d be curious to know what the behavior of your auxiliary battery looks like. Many thanks, Doug

Working on ESP-IDF5 + Have a question about ovms_module 'Name'

Hey, In working trying to get ESP-IDF 5+ Working, I came across the following fun thing that I'm trying to work out what is going on!! This is from main/ovms_module.cpp I'm not sure why we don't just go through all the words and compare - why the masked compare for the last entry! And why that value?? It might make sense if you masked out the final byte ... I'm just struggling to understand. Why am I looking at it?? Well there's a new warning about copy constructors.. and then I ran into a problem where 'Name' is sometimes in memory that can only be accessed 32bit int aligned (which is why the strange implementation in the first place - I get that). Messages stopped being received on phone

Hi folks, I recently noticed that Alerts (Messages) have stopped coming to my phone. The last one was on 8-January '24. The car is still operating / charging normally, and has been driven since then. The Battery, Car, and Location screens are up to date and live. The OVMS module is connected to the home Wi-Fi, as normal, and I can access it through the internal web server (dashboard, status, etc.). But the phone app's Messages page stops at 8-January. I've not messed with the module in a long time. Last boot, in fact, was a crash back in July 2023, from which it recovered normally. (So lovely seeing an uptime in excess of 17 million seconds.) So, what happened back on 8-January? The only thing I can think of was that Android is being more aggressive about shutting down background processing (in the name of increased battery life), but leaving the app running in foreground and triggering an event still wasn't seen on the phone. I can see them on the Web's Dashboard, so the events are being generated and processed otherwise normally. The phone is a Pixel 7a, Android 14. OVMS firmware is 3.3.003/ota_1/eap (build idf v3.3.4-848-g1ff5e24b1 Sep 1 2022 08:40:30). Any ideas? Thanks, Greg
