Webserver Alert pop-up font size?

Hi folks, While I'm thinking of it, a quick question. I have my OVMS v3's Web "Dashboard" being displayed by a Raspberry Pi in my car (a 2010 Tesla Roadster). The Pi is keyboard-less; just a mouse pad to click around the display, which is the car's tiny in-dash Av/Nav radio (the single-DIN one). VGA resolution and physically small, but surprisingly functional. Sort of a HUD, but with all the gauges represented and appropriate to the car. When the Roadster urps up an alert, a pop-up window gets displayed with the alert code. That's great, but the font size is really tiny. It's very hard to read, especially while driving. My question: Is there a way to increase the size of the font, preferably with some sort of persistent configuration command to the OVMSv3? There's no keyboard, so zooming in with control-plus isn't available. Thanks, Greg

DBC : proposal fix for negative integer numbers having wrong values

Dear list, I've come across an issue with the DBC parser where a non-32-bit negative number was incorrectly decoded. I've traced this to an issue with sign-extension ; and I've proposed a fix here https://github.com/openvehicles/Open-Vehicle-Monitoring-System-3/pull/736 Before having it merged, I'd like to gather some feedback from users of the DBC module. Introduction - message replay and other topics

Hello everyone, My name is Ludovic and I've just bought an OVMS for a R&D project I'm working on. I know how to read/write some (easy) code, and am not afraid of (digital) electronics too. I've managed to compile, and flash FW to this unit. My use-case is to use OVMS as an aid during the testing phase / tuning of an EV vehicle: * Using OVMS as a pure data-logger of the CAN Bus (to SD card, with an automatic offload to a remote server as soon as a network connexion is available) - i.e. logging during the runs, and dumping the data either as soon as possible, or when the vehicle is back in the shop. * Also making use of the "dashboard" functions to have an in-vehicle display (phone/tablet) of the main parameters of interest : GPS Speed, Motor RPM, some BMS parameters, some controller parameters, ... so that the test driver can have some feedback on the internals of the vehicle. Part of my plan is to explore the DBC-based vehicles of OVMS, and for that I was interested in using the "replay mode" that has been contributed to the code in 2019 : https://github.com/openvehicles/Open-Vehicle-Monitoring-System-3/commit/611… ; however it does indeed look like a work in progress - as I wasn't able to make it replay something. I've not delved much into the code (yet ?) but it looks that some implementations are incomplete (like `canplay_vfs::InputMsg`) and could explain that. But first I wanted to ask here what was your experience with this part - is it working for you in some state, even buggy ? "replay mode" is not absolutely necessary but could be a huge time saver - otherwise I'd have to replay from another CANBus transceiver - and I'd prefer an integrated environment. "replaying" is interesting for the setup phase as I'll be able to fine-tune the DBC setup ; have the metrics generated and then have the dashboard displaying "live" data - without needing a real vehicle test. Also in the plan is to build a customized dashboard from a chosen set of metrics. This looks easy and well documented as far as I could tell, and I do not expect a lot of difficulties here ; what do you think ? Also part of the plan would be to have a way to log to fixed-size files (either based on the number of events captured on the CANBus ; or based on the duration of the capture - like every 5 minutes) and to find a way to "rsync" them to a remote server. I do not intend to use the "server" connection (be it V2 or V3) as my use-case is a little bit different and I need to retrieve raw CANBus data, not processed metrics - for later post-processing (with SavvyCAN etc...). I'm open to any advices on the feasibility of this. Finally, as a newcomer I'll also try to help with documentation on things that I struggled with or that are evident but not in the doc yet. Thanks everybody who created (and contributed to) this project that looks a fantastic tool to observe and tinker with vehicles! Please feel free to share your thoughts on this. Android App beta

Everyone, I'm currently working on the next Android release including KustomWidget support and a native app widget based on the old Automagic gauge widget. Automagic has been dead for some time now, and it keeps crashing on Androids >= 7. I've seen the effect in my emulator tests, and it seems to occur more frequently with non-roadster images. IOS app reported GSM signal strength

I've noticed for awhile but never asked the question; why does the IOS app report wifi signal strength when I'm connected to wifi as gsm signal strength? I would expect gsm to always be gsm and maybe wifi would also be shown (and identified as such) when present. Note that I run my modules in wifi client-only mode. Craig

BCM seed key algorithm Maxus Euniq6

Hi all, I am currently working on the implementation for the Maxus Euniq6. I have been able to decipher most of the metrics I wanted, but now I need to open and close doors. I was able to get access to a scanner for the car and sniff the can while the scanner opened and closed the doors. I mostly deciphered the interaction between the car and the scanner but there seems to be a seed-key algorithm in order to authenticate the scanner with the car. (I have ruled out a simple xor of bitshift). Any ideas on how to decipher this? I have a list of seed-keys and the chatter before in case someone wants to take a look. Any help is greatly appreciated. Use of deallocated memory in a bunch of places!?

Hi all, I noticed some behavior on the *tpms* command I'd copied from the Kia/Kona code, which sent me down a small rabbit hole. What I was seeing was that the temperature was repeated instead of seeing the pressure and temperature. Even in vehicle.cpp, we can see code like this: const char* range_est = StdMetrics.ms_v_bat_range_est->AsUnitString("-", rangeUnit, 0).c_str(); if (*range_est != '-') writer->printf("Est. range: %s\n", range_est); My C++ is a bit rusty, however I believe that the 'const char*' won't hold the temporary std::string object returned by 'AsUnitString'. To do that, I believe we need to assign to a reference (which I know will work). The problem is that the original code will mostly work (especially in cases like the above), as the deallocated heap memory won't have been reallocated. const std::string& range_est = StdMetrics.ms_v_bat_range_est->AsUnitString("-", rangeUnit, 0); if (!is_empty_metric(range_est)) writer->printf("Est. range: %s\n", range_est.c_str()); Where I've defined in vehicle.h the following: inline bool is_empty_metric(const std::string &measure) { return (measure == "") || (measure[0] == '-'); } Will the above work functionally? Would it be better to be: return (measure =="") || (measure == "-") This occurs in 8 files (outside my new Ioniq 5 files) that I have noted.
