We need to change the OVMS logo, to better reflect the vehicle independence. The existing logo is too much Tesla. Felix has kindly prepared a couple of options for us, attached below. My preference is for the one with the car outline (even though it retains a hint of Tesla), as it emphasizes the vehicle comms aspect. This is quite urgent, as the Teslive people are pushing for artwork. What do you guys/gals think? Regards, Mark

Nissan Leaf

Attached is a first-run at Nissan Leaf support, with a few values read from the bus passively: Speed Headlight status Park / Drive status SOC I’ve also pushed this to github (along with a large number of other small changes). The Nissan Leaf support is proving really hard for me. I don’t have the car, or much CAN bus data, and the public documentation is contradictory and incomplete. End result is that I am just guessing, and completely unable to test my guesses. Anyway, please try it and let me know if any of those figures show up with any sense of accuracy at all. Going forward, I really need some CAN bus dumps from a Nissan Leaf. Specifically: Car idle Car plugged in and charge started Car charging Charge interrupted Driving Driving as close to a constant speed of 10 kph as possible Driving as close to a constant speed of 20 kph as possible Driving as close to a constant speed of 30 kph as possible Car parked, but on Car parked, coming out of park into drive gear Car stopped, coming out of drive gear into park Car in park gear, then handbrake applied For each of those, both with and without a T connector and LeafSpy running would be helpful. I’m guessing the logs can be gotten from monitor-all mode with an OBDII adaptor. There is not too much data on the can bus and that should be fast enough. i-Miev/C-Zero/iOn

Hi As a owner of a i-Miev I'm interested in OVMS support for the i-Miev/C-Zero/iOn EV. Has anyone looked into supporting those EV? I'm planing to start looking into adding support for those EV. And asking for help to add a vehicle plug-in module stub for those cars, so that naming and so on is correct. Best regards Thomas B

Twizy controller configuration / CANopen SDO protocol

Hi everyone, sorry for dropping behind/off last months, lots of work. I've not been able to catch up on the framework advances yet, but nevertheless wanted to announce a major Twizy update I'm currently working on. This update enables access to the SEVCON controller configuration of the Twizy. Low level commands allow read and write access to all SDOs. Macro commands allow to easily change common settings like maximum speed, maximum torque, power and recuperation levels and drive profile characteristics. There is a potential benefit for other vehicles from this development: I've done a basic CANopen SDO protocol implementation for this. The implementation is specific to the Twizy only because it's limited to addressing just node #1 and currently only supports expedited SDO transfers, not segmented. The node id could easily be made variable, and segmented transfers should be not much of a problem. It still is nowhere near a complete CANopen protocol implementation, but allows SDO reading and writing. Tell me if this sounds useful for other vehicles. As I've not yet integrated your latest work, I've pushed this into my Github repository first: https://github.com/dexterbg/Open-Vehicle-Monitoring-System I'll also wait for some more user feedback before going on, and I also want to implement support for the Twizy 45 before merging this in. YouTube Google Hangout

HI folks, Yesterday, I held a quick hangout showing people how to upgrade the firmware on V2 hardware. I shared it onto YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXaRWT8LAmY using the TransportEvolved account (the site I own/write for… www.transportevolved.com) Several folks asked if we could hold a hangout explaining how to use OVMS from the start. Maybe we could arrange something here with a couple of folks on board? I’d be happy to ‘drive’ the desk as it were, if other people were happy to help explain stuff etc? We’ve got a lot of noobs now wanting to take part in the project, which is excellent, but a YouTube primer may give us all some extra ground for the project. Second, (for Mark) You said you were hoping to have alpha code for the LEAF today. If you do have it, would you be willing to package it up for me (I don’t have the compiling tools on hand so pre-packaged .hex files work best for me)? I’m going on a fairly long Xmas trip in a few weeks, so it’d be a good chance to put OVMS through its paces. Third, I’ve heard from some users who say they can’t get the Pickit 2/3 working with the software now available online, because the required libraries aren’t available any more…. Thoughts? Nikki.

Problems with GPRS initialization

I previously had a v1 module on my 2.0 Tesla Roadster, and decided to upgrade to a v2 module. I'm having no such luck. I pulled the SIM card from the old module (AT&T GoPhone in the USA), installed it in the new, put it in the car, and provisioned with SMS from my own cellphone (REGISTER, PASS, SERVER 64.111.70.50 mypass, GPRS WAP.CINGULAR - -, MODULE US549 M SMSIP TR) I set all of the feature codes the same as my previous v1 module. When I query it with "GPRS?" I get back APS: WAP.CINGULAR, User:, Pass:, GSM:AT&T, GSM:OK, and Server: Not Connected. Sometimes I see "Server: Not Connected (0x0041)". DIAG shows RED Led:7, GREEN Led: 5, NET State: 0x0041, 12V Line:11.6 ref=0.6, Crashes:1 ..last: RI - 240. I'm stumped. Any suggestions on how to debug why this module won't connect via GPRS? I've tried power-cycling... Ken

I have been hoping to get a chance to get my OVMS module replaced so that I can finish debugging the QC code, but I have been too busy. I have attached my latest version in case someone is able to try it out over the Christmas period (it is for 2.5.4) When I last tested it I got good results, but it needs a few QC runs to be sure that the start, end and current detection work properly. I am also interested if the "estimated range" works well during QC as that is calculated by my code rather than the car (which simply returns "unknown" for range all through QC). Hi, This is total off the List! A friend off mine is trying to repair a TR. Unfortunately the PEM is partially damaged (mechanically/electronic). More details on demand. Didi anyone here know anybody who has a (not so bad) PEM 1.5? Or where is a good Place to ask? Here in Germany are only 3 TR 1.5 ever sold. Thanks and Sorry Bye Michael
