Hi, To connect to 4G can anyone foresee an issue connecting up a SimCom 7000g such as this to the OVMS mainboard: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mNyRKTn I assume it may need the level shifter added (TXS0104EPWR) if not already on the board. Are all the SimCom commands generic or require modifying? Cheers Derek
You can desolder the SIM5360 and replace it with a SIM7xxx, as we’ve designed the board to support both. But the issue is the firmware. The commands are different. I’ve been working on it for months already, fighting with weird network crashes unrelated to the driver itself. Pretty random and hard to repeat. Still trying… Regards, Mark

And if you go this route it's worth mentioning that the sim7600 uses ANT2 instead of ANT3 so you either have to move the u.fl connector or source a new one. Craig

I never posted pictures before now but I did a swap back in 2019 (after buying a hotair rework station). I sourced the module from ebay (it was about $47US/shipped from china). These days it looks like aliexpress.com is the place to get them. Clearly I have way too many projects going because I haven't been much help to Mark in his efforts to add support for it... Craig
