Hi, new door switch and it works. (until now ;-) ) I think they use too cheap units. Bye michael Am 04.04.2013 um 04:10 schrieb Mark Webb-Johnson <mark@webb-johnson.net>:
Urgh, what is it with these little door switches in EVs? There must be a better way.
I've now heard of these problems in Nissan Leafs, Tesla Roadsters, Twizzies, Volt/Amperas, and Tesla Model S's. My old mini even had the problem.
:-)
But, seriously, it seems that 12V battery failures in EVs are a cause of so many problems. I've literally read/heard/seen more than 50 of these, across so many models of EV, but have still to read/hear/see a main traction battery failure,
Glad it wasn't anything worse.
Regards, Mark

Hi,
Car is back. It is NOT the 12V Battery. Is is a broken driver door switch. It has a short circuit. They think this drains the battery. Now waiting for the spare part. But in the meantime i can drive. Only the drive door knob doesn't work. Outside switch to look and unlook when FOB is near.

On the Ampera there is no more temperature and no more charging indicator.
Urgh. Michael: Can you test this and see if anything was broken?
