As it turns out, u.fl sockets are directional (if I had looked more 
closely I would have seen this). The socket I replaced at ant3 had the 
correct orientation but after removing it all 4 pins are still shorted 
together. This makes me think ant3 is not really used with a sim7600.

The socket on ant2 was reversed. Installing a new one correctly solved 
the short circuit but now it appears to be open and I'm still getting no 
signal (+CSQ: 99,99). So I guess now I need to swap the simcom module.
