Some interesting developments in the UK with an attempt by the UK EVSE Manufacturers to prevent DIY EVSE; http://speakev.com/threads/industry-attempting-to-stop-diy-evse.1615/ I intend to fight this but suspect it might be something for OVMS to watch closely. Kevin, sounds interesting, but your scan is only downloadable by registered users. Could you post it here? Regards, Michael Am 31.03.2014 12:26, schrieb Kevin Sharpe:

Kevin, well, who would have expected this... ;-) Lots of money has been invested by the industry into making charging an EV much more complicated, controllable and expensive than just plugging into a standard socket like any other electrical device... ...and you just walk along and show people how to undermine that? How impertinent! :-D It sure will be interesting to see how that lobby will try to act against you, but I also know it doesn't feel good facing a bunch of highly paid lobby lawyers. I think I would wait for their first strike to see what they try, and be prepared having to obey some provisional injunction. Regards, Michael Am 31.03.2014 13:35, schrieb Kevin Sharpe:

As a side, We are trying to investigate this for an official story at www.transportevoved.com. Unfortunately, my past connection with Kevin (as an employee) is causing problems for me. Also for Mark, my colleague at Transport Evolved, who is also ex-ZCW. On Mon, Mar 31, 2014 at 1:16 PM, Michael Balzer <dexter@expeedo.de> wrote:

I¹m well used to business in the US so not concerned personally I do think it¹s a good test for the EV driver community who have to decide whether they want the right to modify their cars in future if the EVSE manufacturers get their way then all mods are at risk because of ¹safety' :-) We¹ve made a formal complaint to the competition authorities in the UK which will be interesting.
