We need to change the OVMS logo, to better reflect the vehicle independence. The existing logo is too much Tesla. Felix has kindly prepared a couple of options for us, attached below. My preference is for the one with the car outline (even though it retains a hint of Tesla), as it emphasizes the vehicle comms aspect. This is quite urgent, as the Teslive people are pushing for artwork. What do you guys/gals think? Regards, Mark
The proposed icons are great. I also prefer the one with the car outline. Tom on 6/5/13 8:05 AM, Mark Webb-Johnson wrote:

I love it! It would be good however, if we could include an element of the automation and monitoring in the icon without making it too busy… Tough call though! :) Nikki. On 5 Jun 2013, at 16:44, Jack West <jackduncanwest@gmail.com> wrote:

The feedback was about as close to universal approval as I've ever seen. The winner is the option with the car outline, and we'll be moving to this new logo from now on. I'll upload the logos to github later today. Thanks for your feedback, and especially to Felix for his hard work with this. Regards, Mark. On 5 Jun, 2013, at 11:05 PM, Mark Webb-Johnson wrote:

A german Twizy driver would like to add the OVMS logo to a module holder he created: I forwarded the PNG to him (we don't have an SVG version, do we?). He now asks if he may use the logo, because the license for artwork is missing in the repository. He's right, our license text explicitly excludes the App artwork, mentioning a separate artwork license to be added later. Obviously, "later" has not become "now" yet... ;) I suppose the App artwork consists of many different licenses. What's the one for the logo? I’ve created a ‘logo’ directory in the main git repository that includes the versions I have. There is an EPS version there that is scalable, as well as a bunch of other bitmap versions in different sizes. That should keep it clear and MIT licensed (as it is not in the Apps directory). You guys are welcome to use the project logo as you need. Regards, Mark.

Is this a question to me? I have no problems with licensing of the come logo so no to you guys how you do it. However, I think we should renew ourselves for version. 3 on all levels of the artwork and user experience. It's beginning to feel quite outdated. :-) Best felix b. Agreed about the graphics refresh for v3. But, let’s get the car module done first. I’’m trying to make the framework there support the future (MQTT, etc) as well as the past (OVMS protocol, etc). So, it should work with the current protocol, server and apps; but allow us to switch to a more modern server and app protocol later. Regards, Mark.
