so before the make command I entered

export GNUMAKEFLAGS=

and it compiles without warnings.

I will not put the environment variable in my profile, so I can watch the further development in updates of gmake.

What I was hoping for is to find the place in one of the ovms .mk files to stick GNUMAKEFLAGS=
