I agree,too. It's totally worth the $10 even if the SIM card is never used. I would only have concerns if USSD with one particular M2M provider is the only option you have. And it is not that the current setting is unreliable, in fact once it is setup correctly it is very reliable. Yes!
We need to get to the point where new OVMS users can just plug in and go. By all means have the option for cheaper SIM's for those people who are technically compotent or prepared to invest time but I think Nikki and my experience has shown that we are more interested in reliable OVMS operation than the monthly cost.
