Thanks for the suggestion. It seems that something got corrupted in my setup. I had non-ASCII characters in my config list, and I wasn't able to perform a backup properly. After doing a factory reset, everything is back to normal. Could you clarify what the a2l script is that you mentioned? I'd like to check my memory and crash backtrace as you suggested.
