Just guessing, but does
int icon;
in MyGcmListenerService.java at line 132
not need to be initialized like
int icon = 0;
now you use
.setSmallIcon((icon != 0) ? icon : R.drawable.map_car_default)
at line 150 now?
As the images and the Google stuff are related to that integer it made
me thinking ...
