Thanks Mark,
Yes, this may be a solution. In my situations the cars are sitting idle for far too long and a reasonable workaround would be for the module to shutdown when the 12V battery starts getting weak - under particular voltage and certain timeout. I am not certain this is possible with current v2 without external hardware.

I know you don't use hologram, but that platform also offers an elegant 'wake up' solution. We can leave modem in low power mode. When app connects to server, server uses hologram api to send an SMS to the modem. Modem wakes up, then a gpio line wakes up main processor, then network connection is made. That provides a good low power compromise.

Thanks Mark, This is great news! It would considerably lower my aux battery budget. Nikolay

 Nikolay,
Yep. Got that baked in as a fundamental feature. We can shutdown external modules (such as GSM) as well as deep-sleep the core processor and wake up either by timer or external input (such as +12V switched ignition on a GPIO pin).

Hi guys, Can I wish for better support for "sleep mode" on the v3 platform?I have killed nummerous aux. batteries with the v2.

 Chris, Julien,

I hear you. Just waiting for the latest processor stepping from Espressif, then should be ok for a run of developer boards. Still no modular certification, so stuck as a DIY until that is resolved.

I appreciate that the delays are frustrating - for me too. Just a huge steep learning curve with this new platform.

Regards, Mark.
