Hey Michael,
I installed the new version and things seem basicly to work
for me so far.
Our e-UP is connected via ODB and T26A. Climate control ist
working. What I'm missing is a response that the climate control
message is accepted. The end result with red arrows layer over
the car looks nice, but I would prefer a two step approach. 1.
message accepted, 2. result OK (the red arrows). The situation
on the wake up button is simmilar. I get no visual response, if
the wake up is working (like making the text bold in the old
UI).
The two "home link" buttons on the vehicle screen look lost
and mess up the design (the icons look very different). I only
have room for 5 buttons on a row and due to the two home link
buttons we have six and therefor a second row with only one
button on it. Not that pretty ...
So far my first impressions.
Regards
Chris

Everyone,
I've merged the UI redesign into `master`. I've been using
this for 3 weeks now without issues, but I can only test my
vehicle (VW e-Up), and I still can only test the pure OBD
installation on that one.
Please install the latest build (
https://github.com/openvehicles/Open-Vehicle-Android/tree/master/latest)
and test for issues with your vehicle types &
configurations.
A big "thank you" to DFJ (Developer From Jokela), impressive
work!

Michael

Looking good!
No crashes when charging
Shows as Ioniq 5
The widget starts the app correctly.
One thing I found was in the Push
Notifications/ command area:
Portrait mode:
Note the really big boxes. This is because
the date column is squished to a couple of pixels and it
is displaying it wrapped downwards.
Looks fine in landscape mode

Ah, thanks Chris. Maybe you need to obey that
setting when you click on the widget then :)
//.
The apo crashes regardless how I
open it.
I'm running on LineageOS (based on Android 14)
without Google. I don't give the app GPS
permissions.
@Michael: The old UI is still in the app. You
can select it from the gear symbol under
"Settings".

Chris
Font size looks all fixed, thanks.
For some reason when I click
on the widget it opens the old look ovms
still... is the old look still hidden
somewhere?
Also if I start charging my
car (not through the app), then whenever
I switch to or open the app, the app
crashes.
I'm just doing ac charging
from a wallbox.

Hi.

I like the
design of the Mercedes
Ne app. Don't need a one
to one copy, but it has
a good mixture between
info and links, I think.
Hi.
What
info would you
like to be shown
on main screen?
Also many
thanks for the
effort. The
new design is
not my cup of
tea, but that
is question of
personal
liking I
suppose. For
me the menu is
far to
present,
whereas the
information of
the vehicle
seems barely
visible.
For the
e-Up the
climate
control throws
an error.
"Fehler bei
der
Kommandoausführung".

Thanks
for the
update. In
general I like
the new
design.
I've
attached a
screen shot.
The list box
items need to
resize for
larger fonts
to stop them
being all cut
off.
Also
where does the
"Unknown
Vehicle model"
come from?

I have a
slightly
larger font
setting:
Also here:
<1000012002.jpg>
..where the
labels are
overlapping
due to the
font size.
And
the ... here:

I'm also
getting a
crash when
opening the
settings on
the map. (App
disappears.
First time it
prompted to
clear cache
which I did)
Is
there a new
widget? If I
click on the
widget I see
the old UI.

Hi Android users.
I’ve
recently
redesigned UI
for Android
and it would
need some
testing.
Please
report any
issues,
improvement
suggestions,
etc.
Thank
you!
