The prize is that I’ve just committed all the code we made on the recent UK hack-a-leaf day.

The code itself is now based purely on EV bus. It has some active polling (which we are still working on, but doesn’t work properly as is) to try to get to the CAR-CAN bus. It can pickup SOC (based on GIDS) and charge state. Very buggy, but a good start.

To help testing/developing, you’ll need one of these:

  • DB9-F to Left-Hand right-angle J1962-M cable with pinout B, as below
Pinout B

J1962-M   DB9-F   Signal
4         3       Chassis/Power GND
6         5       CAN-H (alternate CAN)
14        4       CAN-L (alternate CAN)
13        7       CAN-H (primary CAN)
12        2       CAN-L (primary CAN)
16        9       +12V Vehicle Power

J1962 end should be MALE plug with right angle cable. DB9 end should be FEMALE.
Both ends should be enclosed in shells, and cable should be 1metre in length.
