It may be quicker, and only slight more costly, to simply replace the entire cable.

My friend has a roadster and has a OVT1 cable that has failed; looks like a case of stranded wires being flexed one time too many. He said the connector shell had to be created from scratch but I'm hoping the terminals are standard and can be sourced from somewhere. Is there a part number for these?
