Nice to see that you're also thinking about this 🙂

Great idea with monitoring speed and direction, Micheal! That could be something that might be common code for all vehicles, and then each vehicle implementation could  raise an event for the different things that are possible to detect from the car. 

I seems we need and emergency event handler of some sort that can keep track of the events and the SMS sending and SMS response.

Btw, what are the chances for 12V being gone in a crash? Maybe we should have a backup battery in the OVMS?
