[Ovmsdev] Modem link-drop crash

Log doesn’t show much. Modem has a network connection to VodafoneNZ, and signal strength seems ok.

The following output will help:

simcom status

Plus output of ‘level debug’ for a minute or two.

If still no network connection, try:

simcom setstate NetLoss

And show output at level debug for another minute or so.

Regards, Mark.

It's now sitting on my driveway in this state. I was able to connect with a terminal emulator but I wasn't able to send commands to it. Do you need local echo? I'm fairly sure I tried ctrl-j to get a carriage return. I also tried minicom's add CR function.

I'm fairly sure it was using a different mobile provider when I left the house, and the trip did involve going to an area of low or no signal (my cell phone didn't work inside the house we visited but did outside). Could the problem be caused by roaming from one provider to another? I can get a sim card for one of the local providers so I'm not using hologram and potentially roaming between networks if that helps to pin it down.
