[Ovmsdev] OBD-II Cables

OK, I had to switch factories but have managed to order the next batch of cables 50/50 left and right hand cable exits.

Some cars have the OBD-II connector "pointing" upwards, and some downwards:

[ WTF? They can standardise on a connector, but still can't decide which way up it should be? Good grief… ]

For clarity, for this discussion let's treat the OBD-II connector pointing downwards (smaller end at the bottom of the connector - first picture above). If your car has it the other way, please stand on your head while making comparisons.

Now, we have 2 types of connector:

A: Lefty: Left-side cable exit (with vehicle OBD-II connector pointing downwards):

B: Righty: Right-side cable exit (with vehicle OBDI-II connector pointing downwards):

For each of:

Leaf
Volt/Ampera
Twizy
and others you guys are working on

Can you confirm if (A - lefty) or (B - righty) is better for your car?

It would be wonderful if someone with each type of car could get me two good reasonable quality pictures of the OBD-II connector in their car - one of the overall location and the other a close up of the connector - and their recommendation for lefty/righty/whatever.

Thanks, Mark.

P.S. The current OVMS OBD-II cable is a lefty.
