Following on from links-to-links-to-links, and my schoolboy french:

They talk there about PIDs for SOC, speed, battery current (to see charging / discharging), range, etc. (terminology-wise, I don't think these are OBDII PIDs, but probably CAN arbitration IDs). The update from priusfan is interesting, as he's managed to query the BMU and got back a bunch of useful information.

Seems to be the bus is on standard OBDII pins, so the standard OVMS OBDII cable should work just fine. It is 500kbps, 11 bit IDs.
