[Ovmsdev] iPhone UI Request-For-Comments

I really like the top-down view! That gets my vote without a doubt.
Heck, from your demo I can even see that you're driving on the wrong
side of the road!! (At least for me, being an American, it's the
wrong side. In Hong Kong, I know it's the correct side.)

I think the 3D effect on the map doesn't help at all, and the
flipping/upside down thing is way more distracting than cool. Assuming
the car icon is the same color as chosen, it'll be great.

If speed is easy, then how about adding:
 1) Power Output in kW (is displayed on at least one VDS screen while driving)
 2) Current/Peak g-Force, horsepower, and torque
 3) Instantaneous/Average kWh/mile

thanks,
- Bennett

We took GPS data from the Alpine head unit, with location streamed once every two seconds, and play it back as if a car is driving it (with car bearing derived very roughly as the bearing between the location now and the location 2 seconds ago - so it is a bit jumpy). Real Tesla Roadsters seem less jumpy on the direction (I guess they smooth the GPS data over more than 2 seconds). You can see another visualisation of the round Hong Kong rally data here.

In this re-work, I've make the map annotation for the car a self-contained object that has everything it needs to know about itself and draws itself. We can either use pop-ups when you touch a car, or just hover a little speedometer/parking sign over the car. We can also show battery SOC in a similar way.

The iPhone would animate the vehicle flip so you'd end up with a five second animation of the vehicle being sucked into a black hole in the map and then being spat out flipped upside down - every time the car moved a couple of degrees of north/south.
