Tom Saxton, and Plug in America, are conducting a survey with a view to understanding the long-term affects of temperature, mileage, and other factors on Tesla Roadster vehicle batteries. These vehicles represent the largest body of high mileage electric vehicles to date. How are the battery packs holding up? How does energy capacity vary between vehicles? How much capacity loss is typical over time and distance driven? Do charging habits affect battery longevity? Do cars in hot or cold climates differ in battery health? The results of this survey will help answer these types of questions, are public and will help us all understand how best to prolong the life of our batteries.

So far, they've got 112 responses (about 4% of all roadsters), which is not bad - but only 2 from Hong Kong. Given the relatively high summertime temperatures here, it would be really good to see more responses from Hong Kong.

Here's the link to the survey:

If you need help answering any of the questions, just drop me an eMail. If you have OVMS in your car, I can help you get some of the required information.

Thanks for your help,
Mark Webb-Johnson
